Lame Duck2010 and Predictions

So we passed tax breaks for everyone including the richest of the rich just so we could extend unemployment for 13 months, adding roughly a trillion or so more dollars to the debt. My prediction is that in 2012 the tax cuts will remain in place as no president dare raise taxes in an election year, especially after the George H.W. Bush "Read my Lips" debacle. The jobs that the tax cuts are supposed to create will not happen, as U.S. companies are sitting on record amounts of cash and will continue to do so. I would be surprised if unemployment gets below 9.5 percent. One thing that's for sure, as soon as the Republicans take office they will start screaming about the debt and the first thing they will want to cut is Social Security. And Obama the fool thinks this is a good start in bipartisanship. Mitch McConnell will halt any progress on anything, so going into 2012 elections, Obama will look like nothing has been done in the last two years. Darrell Issa (R CA)will start investigating everything from Obama's birth certificate to how he rose up the ranks so fast. It's the people of this country who will suffer. And speaking of suffering, the Republicans who complain that its the Blacks and Hispanics who are robbing our tax dollars from all the welfare they receive, voted down the Dream Act. This law would have put Hispanics who were brought here by their parents when they were too young to have a say so, would have put them on a fast track to citizenship if they complete two years of military service or complete two years of college. Two things, both college and the military prepare you with skills to get a job so you would not have to collect these so called handouts. The second thing is, one of the conservatives argument against abortion is the fetus does not have a say in the decision. Its the same for a four or five year old who's parents came here illegally. They had no choice. In two years let's revisit and see just where we are.

  1. oh tim
i love it when your all wrong.
first off no tax breaks were given, these are the rates that have been in effect for 8 years if anything they were going to go up,let me say this again you libs make it sound like there was going to be a tax break no there was'nt so stop trying to spin it that way it;s staying the same for everyone get it stop spinning.now answer this name one time that screwing the rich with huge taxes ever produced more jobs in the private sector?never happened period so get off the classwarfare crap it just shows jealousy and frankly is pathetic.the repubs complaining about the debt well someone has to they are not unguilty on that but come on if you really care about the future of this country do not burden that future with unresponsable spending today,i see you have been reading the far left loony blogs about issa, yeah i heard he was going right after obama, not he said first thing probably would be countryside finance, that should be scary for franks, dodd & emmanual, but keep on reading those blogs and try to have it your way.last but not least your tear ladden version of the failed dream act[ i love how you only put hispanincs in it, was it not for anyone from anywhere ,well your way makes it sound that if your against it your an anti latino hateful racist, god you libs can put a spin on anything]coming from i person who is the first in his family born in this great country i'll tell you that this so called dream act is an insult to all those who have chosen the legal way of coming here and particapating in the american dream.oh name the repub that say above said only blacks and hispanics are robbing our tax dollars for welfare .so 2 years ago obama was elected yours mine our president many said the age of racial politics was over, really how can they be when leftwing social liberal progressive commie dems like your self either dig up the past or just make things up about either classwarfare or stir up ethnic hatred to further push their political ideas.

  2. Joe talk about spin, these were temporary tax breaks and Bush knew it. They were temporary because they were unfunded and the democrats did not want to pass them in the first place and it took V.P. Cheney to come in and break the 50/50 tie in the Senate so they could pass them through reconcilliation. The same thing you guys were screaming about when the Dems passed health care, only you guys called it a nuclear option which is something completely different alltogether. The Bush administration themselves called them temporary to get the economy going only it didn't work as we have the worst recession since the great depression and that is fact. The period from 1947 until 1981 when taxes were high is when this country had the highest growth rate, the highest gains in GDP, and the lowest unemployment with the smallest bubbles. Those are statisics that cant be spun. Even David Stockmon, Reagans budget director who developed the Reagan tax breaks have called the Bush tax breaks the reason for the current economic crisis. I would say he is an expert on the subject compared to you or the radio people you listen to. As for Issa I didn't read a blog I listened to him say it on CNN. Once again I will take it straight from the horses mouth. As for the dream act I have heard that from many Republicans who are not politicians. Politicians are too smart to say that out loud and that's why they are wimps in the first place.
